If you’re an agency worker, your contract is with the employment agency. They place you with a company (‘hiring organisation’) for a temporary period of work (‘assignment’). When you’re on an assignment, the hiring organisation is responsible for directing your work.

How long can you work for a temp agency?
The temp agency finds workers and places them with the appropriate company, and the temp worker is on the job only as long as they are needed – it could be for a few days, a few weeks, or a few months. I know people with computer skills who have been temps at the same company for years.
